Ingredients:

1/2 kg (500 g) fresh anchovies (dilis), deboned
1/2 cup (65 g) all purpose flour
1 pc (50 g) egg, lightly beaten
4 cloves (20 g) garlic, crushed
1 pc (30 g) small onion, chopped
12 pc (84 g) button mushrooms, halved
227 g (227 g) DEL MONTE Tomato Sauce
3 tbsp (48.6 g) calamansi juice
1/2 tsp (3.5 g) iodized fine salt
1/2 tsp (1.5 g) black pepper
2 cups water
3/4 tsp (5.25 g) iodized fine salt
1/4 tsp (.75 g) black pepper
1 tbsp (15 g) sugar


Procedure:

1. MARINATE dilis in 3 tbsp calamansi juice, 1/2 tsp iodized fine salt ( or 1 1/2 tsp iodozed rock salt) and 1/2 tsp black pepper for 1 hour. Add flour and egg, then blend.

2. FRY every 2 tbsp of dilis mixture until golden brown. Set aside.

3. SAUTÉ garlic, onions and mushrooms in a little oil. Add DEL MONTE Tomato Sauce and 2 cups water. Season with 3/4 tsp iodized fine salt ( or 2 1/4 tsp iodized rock salt), 1/4 tsp black pepper and 1 tbsp sugar. Simmer for 3 minutes. Stir in fried dilis before serving.
RINATE dilis in 3 tbsp calamansi juice, 1/2 tsp iodized fine salt ( or 1 1/2 tsp iodozed rock salt) and 1/2 tsp black pepper for 1 hour. Add flour and egg, then blend.
