1. COMBINE first 6 ingredients, 1 tsp iodized fine salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Mix well. Form every 1-1/2 tbsp of mixture into balls. Deep-fry until golden brown. Slice each meatball in half.
2. SIMMER DEL MONTE Tomato Sauce for 5 minutes. Add meatballs, salt and pepper to taste. Allow to simmer. Set aside.
3. IN each hotdog bun half, sandwich 4 meatballs and pour 2 tbsp sauce over meatballs. Top with cheese if desired and toast until cheese melts.
