Wine Festival – “Bridge” Market of Szeged – Cavalcade of Dóm Square – Food Yard

The Day of Szeged Festival became the most important gastronomic and cultural festival of Szeged, the surroundings and the whole region. The Festival is well-known out of the Hungarian borders too, guests arrive from the South, and Romania as well.
The event begins with the 19th Wine Festival of Szeged from 17th of May. It is set in the centre of the city at the “Széchenyi” square. As one of the largest and most flourishing cities of Hungary, a lot is expected from Szeged’s Wine Festival each year. It offers hundreds of programs on three stages, from jazz, to blues and stand up shows. The open-air “Super8” film projection also enriches the program. Crowded squares and streets are expected with people, enjoying wine and food from noon till dawn. Visitors who plan to tour around the city will not be disappointed because it delivers so much fun.
Beside more than a hundred Hungarian wine-makers, the closed bridge with the “Bridge Market” offers a great ‘folk-traders’ venue with more than 200 Hungarian craftsmen. It has a unique atmosphere, several blues, jazz, folk music bands playing around. At the ‘ad hoc” folkdance shows everyone can enjoy and learn some authentic Hungarian folk dance. On the Cathedral (‘Dóm’) square innumerable concerts, folklore festival are going to be held. On the Klauzál square the nice and snug gastronomic court called ‘Food Yard’ will attract the families.
All the scenes of the Festivals are available with a couple of minute walks.
On this weekend the whole downtown is full with Hungarian and foreign people, old and youth. Event Details :
