Ingredients:

2 tbsp YS Kaong (palm fruit)
2 tbsp YS Langka (Jackfruit) Stripped
2 tbsp YS Macapuno strips
2 tbsp YS Nata de coco (coconut gel)
2 tbsp YS White Beans
2 tbsp YS Mongo (Red Mung Beans)
2 tbsp YS Garbansos (Chick Peas)
2 tbsp YS Ube halaya (Purple Yam)
crushed ice to fill glass
2/3 cup Evaporated milk
Sugar (if desired)

Toppings:
A scoop of ice cream
A slice of leche flan
1 tbsp rice crispies


You can also use fresh fruits or sweetened fruits to prepare this cooling treat.



Procedure:

Put all the first 8 ingredients in a tall glass or glass bowl. Add crushed ice, sugar and milk. Top with ice cream. Serve immediately.


Halo-halo is the most popular and loved Filipino dessert consisting mainly of finely-shaved ice and a delightful concoction of fresh or preserved fruits and sweets, which is believed to be a Japanese- styled ice dessert made popular during the 1940's.
