Ingredients:
Filling: 1 can evaporated milk ¾ cup sugar 4 pcs eggyolk 3 tbsp APF (sifted) Topping: ½ bar melted butter ½ cup sugar Flour Mixture: 2 ¼ cup cake flour (sifted 3 times) 1 tbsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt 1 cup sugar (granulated) Egg Mixture: 8 pcs egg yolk ¾ cup water ½ cup cooking oil 1 tsp vanilla Meringue: 8 pcs clean egg white (set asid w/ clean cover) ½ tsp cream of tartar ½ cup sugar ¼ t shortening for pan greasing.
Procedure:
Filling: Mix together and cook over low fire until it reaches a spreadable consistency. Let it cool. Flour Mixture: Mix together and set aside. Egg Mixture: Mix together and set aside Pour the egg mixture in the flour mixture. Mix thoroughly until batter is well blended and free of lumps. Set aside. Beat egg whites & mix it with cream of tartar and sugar. Beat until stiff. Cut and fold batter mixture unto the meringue. Pour in lined greased pans & bake at 350F for 45 minutes or until toothpick or cake tester comes out clean. When cake is done, invert cake on a tray and remove brown crumbs. Spread filling on one cake and place the other cake on top of the other. Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Cut into desired sizes.
