Ingredients:
3/4 cup raw gabi tuber,shredded 1 cup Coconut milk, pure 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 can condensed milk 4 pcs egg yolk coconut shells, halfed, cleaned wilted banana leaves
Procedure:
Mix the first 3 ingredients and cook over moderate heat while stirring constantly until done. Add condensed milk and simmer while stirring constantly until done. Remove from fire. Fill coconut shell with the mixture. Make a well in centre and drop 1 raw eggyolk in each coconut shell. Cover top with tuber mixture up to close to the brim of shell. Cover whole shell with two layers banana leaves and tie securely with strings. Steam half an hour. Binagol is a delicacy of Leyte in Visayas. It is a sweetened shredded gabi tuber with coconut and condensed milk then cooked in coconut shells, wrapped with banana leaves.
