WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Red intense and deep colour. On the nose, appear ripe fruit, flowers, and blackberry
jam, all together with fresh vanilla and some toffee.
On the mouth, it feels as a refreshing and round wine, with interesting volume,
velvety structure and a complex, persistent and rich ending.
HARVEST:
The favorable climate conditions allowed the grapes to grow healthy and be harvested
in complete ripeness and excellent sanitary conditions, permitting the expression
of the characteristics of this variety.
VINEYARDS:
The grapes come from vineyards in Maipo Valley, on soils near the river, specially
managed to achieve ideal ripeness. This was achieved at 14,2° probable alcohol.
The harvest was made on 15 kilos boxes and the grapes were processed trough a
selection table to eliminate leafs and grapes that didn’t meet the quality standards.
WINEMAKING:
The fermentation process took place in stainless steel tanks, where a 10% “sangrado”
was made during the crushing. Excellence XR leaven was applied to the must. It
was and kept fermenting on 25°C to preserve the floral characteristics of the Syrah.
Post-fermentative maceration lasted 3 days to allow the maximum fruit and mouth
expression from the grapes.
100% of the wine was kept on barrels for 12 months (70% American oak; 30%
French oak).
